The Lodge: Petersfield’s Full-Service Dental Surgery

Dental treatments have come a long way since their inception over 7000 years ago. Back in 5000 BC, Sumerian ‘dentists’ would attempt to smoke out the tooth worm they believed caused tooth cavities with a mixture of beeswax and henbane seed. While henbane is a natural narcotic, we doubt the treatment would have been a success.

Now, thankfully, we know it is bacteria, not a tiny wriggling creature which is the cause for our discomfort. You’ll also be pleased to know that dental treatments have moved on a little since then.

Advanced Technologies in Dentistry

At our full-service dental surgery, my husband Rupert and I use the latest cutting-edge technologies to treat signs of dental decay and other dental issues, backed up by our capable team of friendly hygienists and dental nurses. No henbane in sight, thank goodness!

Many of our patients, however, are not looking for medical dental treatments, but rather aesthetic improvements. As a full-service dental surgery, we have a wonderful opportunity to treat patients who wish to improve the appearance of their teeth and help them to feel their very best. A range of treatments are at our disposal to create a beautiful, natural-looking smile. These include less invasive options such as veneers, overlays and teeth whitening in addition to reconstructive work which utilises dentures and crowns. These procedures can be used to improve the smile, but also correct issues with your bite.

More Than Just Dentistry

As well as dental improvements, we can help boost the appearance of your skin through our cosmetic facial treatments. Cost effective anti-wrinkle injections in the form of botox and dermal fillers can be applied by our highly trained dental staff to refresh your appearance, giving you a natural, youthful look. While aesthetic, these treatments also have a positive effect on the overall mood of the patient.

Continued Care For All The Family

One major benefit of being a full-service dental surgery is our ability to work on every aspect of a patient’s dental care using comprehensive records of all treatments performed. This is especially good news for families; children’s jaws and teeth grow and develop at a rapid rate, particularly in their earlier years as they are preparing for adult teeth to emerge. If a child’s dental care is performed by the same dental surgery throughout their childhood, this enables us to build an accurate image of their dental history, allowing us to treat them better when the need arises.

Being a full-service dental surgery means that no treatment will be performed by ‘outsiders’ so we can guarantee the level of care given and refer back to previous treatment results where necessary.

We hope we’ve given you some insight into the wide range of dental and cosmetic services available at the Lodge dental practice. If you are interested in visiting our welcoming dental team at the Lodge, please feel free to contact us on 01730 266 350 for further information. We look forward to receiving your call.
